The Fiber Fair!

Since many of you have done art & craft shows, i'm sure you will giggle at my "booth", but since this was my first one, I think I did ok!

When I got my information in the mail before the fair, I groaned when I saw I was to be right next to the band. I am usually an optimist, but I was worried about loud, bad music blaring at me all day. Thankfully I was wrong! They were great! My son had a great time peeking at them & dancing, and I was thankful to have front row seating. I even bought their CD, and it's great! If you like bluegrass, you'll like Nuff Said, Old Time Country & Blues Revue.

The other venders were so nice, and it had such a community feel to it. I loved being able to see the wool spun into yarn. It was a fun day!

My Counter Coasters (trivets) sold like hot cakes, and my sweaters did well too. One sweet lady said that she came to the fair specifically to check out my booth! I was so flattered! All of the beautiful things made by others, that I displayed, got a lot of attention too. It made me happy to pass out business cards for the artists I love to support :)

After the fair my family camped. We had a great time roasting marshmallows, but I could have done without the moles rustling around UNDER our tent all night long. Anyhow, we are back now, and I will be listing some new sweaters in my shop today as time permits.

If you haven't been reading my blog all along, make sure to scroll down & enter the giveaways being held right now!

Happy Tuesday!!

Fiber fair tomorrow!

After the fiber fair I should be able to start blogging regularly again. Just a heads up... my shop will be on vacation mode, starting tonight, until after the fiber fair... probably tomorrow night. All of my sweaters are coming with me, so I don't sell the same sweater twice!

Anyone local to the Chicago area? Come on down to the fair! There will be venders, a live band, classes, and food!

wool suit jacket sale!

None of the suit jackets in my shop have sold, and at this point I think i'd like to stick with sweaters, and occasionally skirts. So who wants them? There are 7, 5 are 100% wool, and 2 are blends (one with cashmere!). You can see 6 of them here, and the last one is a teal green. Take all 7 for $20 shipped!

* ETA: This lot is sold! *

Logan's Rugs

I made a few trivets to sell at the fiber fair this weekend, but they are not nearly as beautiful & well made as the ones I found in Logan's Rugs Etsy shop! Leann is a true blue (or should I say green) recyclist, using mill waste from Pendleton to make her trivets and rugs.

Coasters for the fiber fair!

I was originally planning to make some oven mitts, but they weren't turning out as good as I would have liked for a finished product, so I switched gears & made some coasters. I am pleased with how they turned out, and I was happy to be able to use a lot of scraps left over from other projects. I am no artist, but just wanted a little something useful to sell at the fair other than my sweaters. I plan to make trivets as well (think big coaster). What do you think?
