Before and after!

I always love to see what everyone makes from the sweaters, but this was too cute not to share! Lisa made this ADORABLE sock monkey costume for her grandson. Thanks for sharing with us Lisa!

Before...

and after...

Margaret of Fox Island Fancywork, makes a lot of fabulous things from Resweater sweaters. Here is one before and after:

1437 Big cashmere argyle black red sweater for upcycling

Infinity Cashmere Wool Scarf made from an upcycled black and red argyle sweater

Though I couldn't find the "before" sweaters on these, she has made all these wonderful things from Resweater sweaters, and I am always amazed at what she can do to a sweater! If you need any warm weather accessories or unique gifts, her shop is the place to go!

It's What I've Been Working on Wednesday!

If you have a boy, you may recognize this guy, Ben 10. My son wants to be him for Halloween, so I finally got to make his costume! I just bought a green fleece jacket off of Ebay (the shade of green is a little off, but it'll do), and sewed on the stripes & the "10" patch. Luckily, I not only had some white wool on hand, but had it sitting out from the last project. A black t-shirt and a pair of jeans, and Jack will look just like Ben 10!

What have you been working on?

Off topic Thursday - the 5 minute Robot costume

My son is always pretending to be one thing or another, and lately he's been a robot. He wanted me to make him a robot costume out of boxes, so I did! It was really easy... cut a hole for the face in the small box, attach it to the big box (packaging tape), and cut holes for arms. Also I cut a door on the back, so he get get in & out of the costume by himself. The cardboard tubes on his arms were his idea, and I later added (sorry, no pics) metal cabinet knobs I had laying around for dials. Had this been a Halloween costume, I might have covered it with tinfoil, added antennas, and used shiny flexible tubing for arms (danger Will Robinson!), but he is happy with it the way it is, so I left it be. This kept him busy for days! You hear that moms with bored kids? Days!
