Wreath ornament kits!

I am selling wreath ornament kits in my shop this year! Included in each kit is enough felted wool & cashmere squares to make at least 2 ornaments, plus 3 coordinating seams to make the hanging loops. They are only $5 a kit (makes 2 or more ornaments), and $2.50 for shipping (US). Shipping is free on any additional kits.

These ornaments make great gifts, and older children can make them.... the perfect thing to keep little hands busy over Christmas break! My son had just turned 4 when he started stringing these himself (I tie the knots). I recommend having them poke through the square into a pillow, if they are little, so they don't poke their fingers with the needle. Grownups love to make them too!

You can choose from Christmas colors (reds, greens, whites/creams), earthy colors (browns, greens, tans, creams, rusts), bright colors, mixed colors, or you can request special colors (but contact me first with special requests, so I can make sure I can fill them).

Gettin' ready for the fiber fair!

My last show of the year, Fiber in the Park, is coming up in just a little over 2 weeks, so i've been busy! Thanks to Kid's Play World, I have have gotten a TON of work done this week, while my son had a blast. I am able to work, while watching my son have fun with his friends & get his energy out. Now that's a win-win! Here's what i've been up to, and what you will see at the fiber fair along with my sweaters:

Dryer balls

hats. I have been trying to use very stretchy ribbing on most of the headbands, so most of them will fit a 4 year old on up to an adult! Next, by the request of a few friends of mine, I will be working on boy colors!

Ornaments. These are made from the scraps from other projects. I need to make some in Christmas colors now!

Lil Fish Studios

I am happy to have discovered Lil Fish Studios's Etsy shop. She has beautiful, and well made, nature inspired recycled wool brooches and ornaments. I think Mother Nature herself would give her shop a thumbs up!

Bored kids need recycled wool crafts!

The kids are out of school, and excited about all things summer, but at some point you will inevitably hear (in a drawn out whiny voice) "Mom, i'm bored!". That is the perfect time for recycled wool crafts! Even better than the 100th scribbled on coloring book page, you can save these projects to give away as cool Christmas gifts! For all of you who do not know me yet, I will say it again... it is never too early to start on Christmas projects! Here are some uber cute & simple recycled wool projects that I have found online. Please note that any time a project calls for craft felt, you can always use recycled wool felt. It is so much more satisfying to use recycled natural materials!

A fun way to get rid of some scraps... mini wreath ornaments:
