lambswool, lambswool, lambswool!

Tomorrow's Sweater Sunday theme will be.... yep, you guessed it, lambswool! Lambswool is soft, and fuzzy, like a teddy bear. Lambswool is probably the best type of sweater for making diaper covers. It's thicker than most merino, and is still very soft, making it a great choice for things worn against the skin. When lambswool is lighly felted, it remains stretchy & pliable, great for diaper covers, baby pants, hats, blankets, and more. When heavily felted, it becomes stiff, but is still very soft, making it great for slippers, cozies, purses, and more. Any questions about lambswool?

I've been wanting to make nursing pads out of wool...any thoughts? Lambswool seems like a good choice to me.

Margaret, that's because you can make such beautiful hats out of them :)

Morgan, wool would be a good choice for the backing on nursing pads though you would need an absorbent fabric layer before the wool, I would think... just like a wool diaper cover needs a diaper. If it is for minimal leaking, maybe you could use just wool. Please let me know if you make them, and how they worked out.

Ah! You know, that's what I was thinking too but then it seems to ruin the point of being able to let the wool air out. But somehow your post gave me the aha! moment - no need to sew the layers together, they should hold with friction and a bra. I can just replace the absorbent part and air out the wool if they are separate. Baby isn't due for another month so a real life test will be a ways off. ;)
